June 12th 2018, HE Tritsab Gyabra Rinpoche visit Vermont and gave talk to Tibetan cummunity at Burlington, Vermont.
25th Anniversary of Tibetan Resettlement in Vermont
Vermont: On June 2nd 2018, Vermont Tibetan Association, organised a Silver Jubilee celebration of Tibetan resettlement in Vermont, which was held at Burlington, Vermont. Representative Ngodup Tsering of Office of Tibet, Washington DC, attended the silver jubilee celebration. Other guests at the celebration include US Senator Patrick Joseph Leahy, Burlington Mayor Miro Weinberger, and Mr Gerard G. Haase and James D. Kelley, who were part of the committee overseeing the Tibetan Resettlement Project, Burlington, in 1993. Forty other sponsors and employers of the first group of Tibetans resettling in Vermont were also invited to the celebration.
The event went successful with a speech from Representative Ngodup Tsering, Senator Patrick Leahy, and Mr. Gerard Haase. Thank you note from TAV president Mr. Sonam Chophel. Followed by cultural show, dinner and Tibetan group dance (gorshey).

Film Description:
The digitized and updated release by David Wright of a film by Lowell Thomas Jr. following his trip to Tibet in 1949 with his father, famous radio broadcaster Lowell Thomas. This film includes footage of the caravan trek through Tibet to Lhasa where the Thomases met with the fourteen year old Dalai Lama. Street scenes from Lhasa, footage from Sera and Drepong monasteries, with the Kashag ministers and regent of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, scenes from the Tibetan summer festival at Norbulingka, the Dalai Lama’s summer home––this is 1949 Tibet, a rare and precious view of the land and the people before the Chinese invasion.
Proceeds from the event will help support the establishment of the Vermont Tibetan Community Center in the greater Burlington area.

ICT Honors to Long-time activist Grace Spring with Light of Truth Award on Vermont Tibetan New Year (Losar) Festival.
On Feb 17th 2018, The Tibetan Association of Vermont is immensely honored to host the ICT annual Light of Truth award Ceremony to Ama-la Grace Spring. The International Campaign for Tibet (ICT) Board honored Ama Grace Spring, a long time Tibet supporter, with Light of Truth Award on Vermont New Year (Losar) Festival.
President of ICT Mr. Matteo Mecacci, Director Lesley Rich, Vice-president Mr. Bhuchung K. Tsering, and Burlington Mayor Weinberger honored to attend the ceremony.

On May 27th 2017, old TAV board members congratulated and transferred responsibilities to newly elected board members. The TAV election was done on May 7th 2017. The new 13th board members will serve Tibetan community in Vermont for next two years from June 2017 to May 2019. All the Tibetan community gathered on that day and gave warm welcome to all newly elected members.
English and Tibetan Language classes on Sundays in Burlington.
Language as defined is a system of communication used by a particular community or country. Here in Burlington, Vermont, the Tibetan-American community members learn and empower themselves with skills in communication through the program provided by the Tibetan Association of Vermont.
Students will not only learn languages but also explore the Tibetan culture through stories, lectures, musics, festivals, and events.
